Furniture Painting Beyond Basics

In this class Tracey will teach you her own techniques on how to use her favourite furniture & home décor Canadian chalk style artisan paint from The FAT Paint Company. Having attended Furniture Painting Basics or substantial furniture painting experience is required to attend this class.

In the Furniture Painting Beyond Basics we’ll learn some of the more popular complex looks using techniques such as , creating a fade or blend from one colour or shade to another. Give your ordinary pieces life and interest with this effect.

We will use Extra FAT to create texture and interest as well how to  enhance furniture with embossing details. Using Extra FAT can provide many options for all your creative projects. It is a skill you will want to add to your repertoire.

Learning how to create your own glaze using products from The FAT Paint Company as well as using both dark and white wax to create interest will be covered.

We will discuss as a refresher the proper finishing techniques of wax (natural, white and dark) to achieve the patina or clear protective finished look desired. When to use a clear coat for a more durable surface and how to get it professionally smooth will be covered.

All of this will be taught while students create their own sample/inspiration boards for reference to take home. A thank you bag is provided with some take aways including an instructional handout of the topics covered. It is a full evening that will get those creative juices flowing and get students ready to tackle their projects at home.
