In this In the Furniture Painting Basics Workshop class Tracey will teach you her own furniture painting basic techniques on how to use her favourite furniture & home décor Canadian chalk style artisan paint from The FAT Paint Company.
We’ll learn some of the most popular furniture painting basic looks using techniques such as dry brushing, layering, and staining (with the paint) to get a barnboard finish. Learn how to diminish brush strokes for a modern look, as well different distressing techniques for the popular farmhouse style will be covered.
We will cover the proper finishing techniques of wax (natural, white and dark) to achieve the patina or clear protective finished look desired. When to use a clear coat for a more durable surface and how to get it professionally smooth will be covered.
All of this will be taught while students create their own sample/inspiration boards for reference to take home. A thank you bag is provided with some take aways including an instructional handout of the topics covered. It is a full evening that will get those creative juices flowing and get students ready to tackle their projects at home.
